What happened
Following the events surrounding the Liquidity Card project in 2020, I had intended to challenge the action taken by the Texas authorities.
In mid-2021, I contracted COVID-19. What followed was more than 18 months of serious illness, repeated hospitalisation and periods when I was critically ill. At times, my family feared that I might not survive.
I was fortunate to come through it, but the illness left me with lasting lung damage. Regaining my strength took approximately another year.
I share these circumstances to explain my absence, not to ask for sympathy.
Why the silence continued
As my health improved, I became increasingly conscious of just how long it had been since I had contacted you. I felt deeply embarrassed. The longer I remained silent, the more difficult it became to know where to begin.
That was a failure of communication on my part. My illness explains much of what happened to me, but it does not excuse the continued silence. You deserved better communication, and I sincerely apologise.
Where I am today
My health is much better, and I have regained the strength to work and engage with people again. Because of the lasting effects on my lungs, I continue to take additional precautions, especially during winter.
I have never forgotten the people who placed their trust in me. That trust has always mattered personally. Although the investment arrangements were made through the business, I believe it is important to acknowledge your concerns, communicate openly and help bring clarity to matters that remain unresolved.
Why I am reaching out now
I believe there may be a constructive way forward worth exploring. I want to share more about that separately, once I can present it clearly and responsibly.
It is not a completed solution. I cannot promise financial outcomes or timing that are not yet secured. I also do not want this first conversation to become a request for you to make another commitment.
For now, I want to reopen communication and give you the opportunity to raise questions and decide whether you would like to hear more. You do not need to join anything new to ask questions about the past, and expressing interest does not commit you to a proposal or change any existing rights.
